Patch's workshops normalize changes in our lives as inevitable, iterative and necessary for growth rather than surprising and scary all-or-nothing tests of wills. She reminds participants that our current strengths are indeed built off of the last time change visited us and we built resilience through those challenges. She inspires us to take more control of our own choices with healthy habits, while also building muscles to handle the ambiguity and discomfort of growth itself. We are reminded that we are not alone, we already have the skills necessary and that oftentimes, we have more power over our experiences than we think we do.

Patch Schwadron's School to Career programs lead college and university dancers through the murky uncertainties of meaningful futures with rich field insight and a lifelong dancer's finesse. Her funny, generous, practical nurturing is an educator's gift as workshop materials invite interactive engagement anchored in the lived experiences of student participants. The quickly initiated come to understand the creative resource within themselves to navigate the "messy middle" of seemingly constant change, while understanding the need for mentors in many arenas that make up an artful, sustainable life. As Patch's devotees come to learn, "if you aren't having fun, get help", a mindful orientation indeed for those thinking big and bigger about what their contributions to the field continue to include and reveal.
